We are a local church who is:
Living Out the Great Commands
Matthew 22:37-40: Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
We are a people who live out the greatest commandments to love God and love people by being a people on mission and sharing God’s love in His world. Just as God expresses relational love to people, we strive to provide a place where individuals will sense acceptance, hope, comfort, and healing in their lives. Every person is supported through and involved in, pastoral care, small groups, worship and ministry opportunities. We unite in one voice and one mind committed to this vision while celebrating our diversity.
We are a church that passionately loves God, loves people and follows Jesus. The spiritual lives of our church members are characterized by Bible study, prayer, enthusiasm, and boldness. Members live out their faith with power and contagious enthusiasm. In turn, this will be manifest to those around us primarily by our creative and inspiring corporate worship services and resources for personal and family worship.
We believe Christ is central to who we are and what we do. This applies to each believer and the church as a whole. All that we are and all that we do is for His glory. He is the Head of the Body and therefore we affirm our desire for Christ to be seen more perfectly through this family of ministry. As we live out our Christian life as God intends, we become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
God’s will is to pour out his Spirit on all people to transform lives and empower his mission. Being filled with the Spirit of God is the dynamic that empowers us to live passionate, supernatural, God orienting lives in all that we do. We are a church with evidence of the Holy Spirit and the continuing power of God in our lives as central parts of the DNA of our church family. We see people empowered by the Holy Spirit, using every spiritual gift mentioned in God’s Word and actively serving in the church, households and the community.
We believe the process of becoming a disciple of Jesus involves baptism, prayer, ongoing learning about the Christian life, regular worship, and participation in activities that utilize one’s spiritual gifts for ministry.
We are a church of servant leaders, continuing the great legacy of those before us, obedient to the call of God and raising up and mentoring new leaders for generations to come. Our leaders see that the strength of making disciples will determine our strength in evangelization. As such, we will prepare, equip and release God’s people for the work of the ministry/service and support them with prayer, personal involvement, and resources.
We are a Bible-believing, Bible-based and Bible-teaching church. We value the Bible as the inspired Word of God and its foundational authority for faith and practice. We emphasise expository preaching and sound practical teaching/doctrine for life transformation and meeting needs. We are a people who grow in grace and knowledge of the Son of God and are becoming mature and complete, able to distinguish good from evil and equipped to serve God, fellow believers and the community according to the gifts and calling of God.
Reaching the Unchurched
We believe that evangelism is the role of every Christian. Thus, we are a church looking to take new ground and seeking God for new opportunities to build His Kingdom. This includes providing a safe place in the heart of our community to be a light of hope for all those around us. This also means encouraging and organising evangelistic outreach beyond the walls of our meeting place and reaching into the local community.
We are a church growing locally, spreading the love of Jesus to every part of our community, city and nation by building authentic relationships, breaking out of our comfort zones and welcoming all people. We commit to carrying the hope of Jesus to the ends of the earth and ministering to the oppressed and vulnerable, so they can experience the love of God.
